Children’s Dentistry Downtown Atlanta

At Trust Dental Group, your entire family can get the high-quality care they need. We welcome children and adults alike at our practice. Our friendly team is well-versed in providing solutions for all ages. When you bring your child to us, we’ll make sure that their experience is pleasant and positive for them.

The many options that we provide within children’s dentistry include examinations, cleanings, fissure sealants and fluoride treatments. We’ll also teach them healthy hygiene habits and the proper techniques for brushing and flossing so that they can take control of their oral health.

Comprehensive Examinations

You want your child to have a healthy smile. Having good lifelong oral health begins in childhood. We’ll see your child from about when their first teeth erupt, monitoring their teeth, gums and jaw development.

If they require any further services such as fillings to address tooth decay, we’ll discuss them with you so that you can decide how to proceed. We can also show your child how to brush their teeth and floss so that they remove plaque buildup and prevent further problems from occurring.

Cleanings

Our thorough cleanings are often scheduled at the same time as your examination. If you would like to have both done for your child, we can do so in a single appointment. A cleaning involves the use of specialized instruments that remove plaque and tartar from your child’s teeth. Tartar is a hardened form of plaque that can’t be removed at home with brushing and flossing. We’ll then apply a paste and polish your child’s teeth, leaving them shiny and smooth.

Fissure Sealants

Tooth decay is a serious concern for most parents. Increasingly, children are needing fillings to address cavities. Though you try your best to make sure they’re brushing and flossing, decay can still set in. We can prevent the likelihood of decay in the back teeth with fissure sealants. Back teeth have deep grooves that are hard to clean. A fissure sealant is a coating that makes the tooth smooth so that food particles can’t easily become trapped.

Fluoride Treatments

A simple way to prevent tooth decay is through the use of fluoride. Though you likely have it in your toothpaste at home, we can provide a concentrated application of fluoride at your child’s routine dental appointment. It will give greater protection from tooth decay and prevent the teeth from requiring more extensive dental work.
